Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!
I'm a fan of hockey jerseys and have a few specialty nights and game worns and signed ones. It can be expensive but if you look through auctions, thrift stores or contests you can collect on the cheap.
What isn't cheap is big event highly promoted auctions, then you need the big bucks. Like right now the PWHL is auctioning off premiere season jerseys. They'll have logos next season so you won't get any more gamers with the city name on the front.
Right now the highest priced Toronto jersey is Natalie Spooner and it's hitting just over $1,000USD.
The highest priced jersey overall is PWHL Montréal's Marie-Philip Poulin who is over $1200USD.
Now that may seem expensive, but let's compare to the Connor McDavid auctions...
For the low price of $35,000USD you can own the jersey McDavid wore when he scored his first overtime goal!
If you add on another eight grand you can pair it with the stick he scored the goal with!
Game worn jerseys can be an expensive addiction.
Staying with the women's games, Melodie Daoust has announced her retirement.
She will be coaching at College Bourget this upcoming season.
Also retiring, Joe Pavelski.
It's early in the off-season so everyone is just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.
Senior hockey league Allan Cup Hockey is looking to return to Southern Ontario.
It seems like the Hurricanes are looking to take a step backwards in their GM as they've reportedly interviewed Jarmo Kekäläinen to replace Don Waddell. (At 54:17)
Finally, the NHL is getting better at not killing the momentum of the playoffs with long gaps between rounds.
Thanks Gary!
Enjoy your day!
