November has with it its own important dates in the NHL. One of which being the mythical US Thanksgiving milestone where, say it with me, teams who are in a playoff spot by then are more likely to still be in it at the end of the season.

But November brings an important cause to the forefront in Hockey Fights Cancer, and with it, players around the league try to grow their best moustaches. Thanks to the Leafs Twitter, account, we already have a good view of how some of our favourite players are doing in the facial hair department.

Morgan Rielly

Not a bad start Mo, but you did admit to the media not too long ago that you started growing the beard out early. 10 points from Leafindor.

Connor Brown

Didn’t think this was Brown at first. Don’t know if it was the moustache, the hat, or both.

Justin Holl and Garret Sparks

When I think of the Leafs and handlebars, my mind automatically goes to Roman Polak and Colton Orr. Holl might get the right point across to Babcock if he chooses that as his moustache for the month considering how gritty those two were during their days in Toronto.

Frederik Gauthier

I expected more from you Freddy. I mean, you are the goat after all.

Travis Dermott

…… It’s-It’s beautiful! A design so rich and powerful, it’s almost as if there is nothing there. If the team has a competition going they should just stop now. Dermott is by far the winner at this point in time, but there are another three weeks left.

Carlton the Bear

Bravo!

There are still some challengers left to observe. Mitch Marner claimed he’ll be growing a moustache and I expect a tough battle between himself and Dermott for the top spot. But Nazem Kadri, Auston Matthews, John Tavares, and Patrick Marleau could have some star-dazzling displays. There’s also He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named whenever he decides to make his grand return to the team or whatever like who cares about that?

But who’s your early prediction for best Leaf moustache? For me it’s #TeamDermott all the way.
