What are the Solar Bears up to now? They are bringing back Brock Montgomery, who played with the Bears in 2014-15 before getting traded to Fort Wayne for the ECHL rights to a guy named Eric Faille. Faille played 15 games with the Marlies and did extremely well (7G/3A), and when he was down with the Bears, managed to score at a more than point per game rate -- 56 games (24G/36A) for first in points and second in goals scored.

Faille has already been signed to the Toronto Marlies for 2016, which is a very good move -- whoever did the ECHL scouting of Fort Wayne was spot on, Faille deserves the AHL chance.

Montgomery, age 24, played 40 games for Fort Wayne last season (5G/8A). He's big, 6'3 and 216 lbs, and is also pugilistic, with a career total of 123 penalty minutes in 149 games. He's undoubtedly being brought back for the toughness and experience factor, and says that it feels like he's "coming home." "Orlando is one of the greatest cities I’ve ever had the privilege of playing in," Montgomery told the Solar Bears. "There are plenty of guys here who I’m already familiar with - so in a way it feels like I’m coming home - and our team has made some great additions in the offseason. I can’t wait to get started."

Montgomery also suffered a concussion last season, spawning an article from the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel about how Montgomery felt he had a disappointing season. Here's hoping he can stay healthy for the Bears.
