It's American Thanksgiving today, so there are no games scheduled because NHL teams are all in TV markets that have NFL football teams. Oh, wait.

Leafs News

Today is day three of a four day break for The Leafs, so there's little news other than this Instagram photo of Snizzbone and a very muscular Rich Clune. James Reimer and friends will be back for Hockey Night in Canada Saturday.

Last Night's Games

It was a wild night with 22 teams in action, sometimes Hollywood-like action.

The big story of the night is Carey Price. In the third period of the Habs blowing out the Rangers he aggravated his previous injury badly enough to be forced to leave and won't be coming back soon.

Carey Price injured again - Eyes On The Prize
After two and a half games, Carey Price is back on the shelf.

People are already frothing at the mouth with speculation the Habs will trade for a backup goalie. James Reimer's name has even been thrown out there.

Price wasn't the only big-name to take an injury last night, Nail Yakupov was taken down hard.... by a linesman!

Yakupov didn't come back to the game, but there is no update yet on his injury status. The LOLOILERS went on to be demolished by the leagues lowest scoring team, The Hurricanes, and lose 1-4.

Over in Pittsburgh Crosby broke his curse and scored two goals, his fourth and fifth in 21 games this season, but all anyone is talking about is his reported "falling out" with Penguins owner Mario Lemieux.

Other Highlights

The Van Riemsdyk boys are so great between the legs.

A puck! And so little time to stop it from crossing the goal line! Now less! Now less! NOW NONE!

Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

It was 5-1. Good thing they pulled Lundqvist

"Sorry. I know you're in pain, but this part of the bench is full."

And he was definitely in pain after blocking this.

"TAKE THAT PANE OF GLASS!" - Getzlaf

"TAKE THAT GOAL POST" - Landeskog

"AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUARHAHRHAHRHGGGGGGGGG" - Wookie Burks

Evgeny Kuznetsov has quietly picked up 24 points in 21 games. Why don't you hear anyone talking about him?

Meanwhile in Columbus (a phrase likely never written before by anyone) the Devils are wondering when the Blue Jackets took posession of the puck on this goal.

John Collins resigned as COO of the NHL yesterday. Collins has been in the role since 2008 and is best known for his work in the mass commercialization and monetisation of the league's various properties. He was a strong advocate of a strategy to turn fans of individual teams into 'hockey fans' who would watch other teams play. I find his departure a year in advance of the World Cup of Hockey to be curiously timed.
