On the California road trip this year, the Maple Leafs took just one out of a possible six points. Now with three days off between games, we Leafs fans are on the verge of panicking about the playoff killing slump making a return to the season routine.
Is this true though? Or is the road trip just cursed? I looked back on past California trips to see:
15/16: Maple Leafs lose 2/3, only win is 4-0 over the Ducks.
14/15: Leafs lose all three, scoring only one goal in three games.
13/14: Leafs win two! But lose decisively to the Sharks 6-2.
So, thanks to Hockey-Reference.com we learn....not much. The California road trip has only been a thing for four seasons, but it’s been a losing effort three out of four trips.
So are the Leafs melting down?
Maybe, who knows. It was a three game series calm down.

It should only scare bad veterans who are not good at hockey anymore and are only being traded because they are caps dumps because (inhales) THE MAPLE LEAFS ONLY BURY BAD OR INJURED PLAYERS. Go look at the players buried in the AHL, and tell me they aren't bad IN THE AHL.
