Before the trade deadline, there are some games to play, and the Leafs are in New York today to play the Rangers. Tomorrow is the rare Saturday off, but we pay for that with a 1:00 PM start time for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.

The reason St. Louis may want to trade Brayden Schenn:

All signs seem to indicate that the Leafs are interested in Schenn, but he has the ultimate hammer with a full no-trade clause.

The other Schenn story from yesterday:

That will have involved one of the many weasel clauses in the Illegal Check to the Head rule. So many ways a debilitating injury can get called a whoopsie.

I've found the Mikko Rantanen stories really funny. Particularly the ones where the Leafs are totally going to trade for the guy with their massive asset pool.

Not every player with no contract is getting traded.

Leafs took the day off yesterday in New York, so we'll see by morning skate who is in and who is out. No Chris Tanev today, though, for sure.

That is it so far for today, have a good one.
