From Wednesday night:

Last night the Toronto Sceptres outshot the Montréal Victoire from the start of the game, and kept it close until the Victoire got the go-ahead goal late in the third. Toronto tied it up again with three and a half minutes to go. A late penalty gave Montréal a power play to start overtime, but it took a shootout to decide. The win to Montréal, and the loser point so necessary for Toronto as they struggle to get wins.

Leafs are apparently serious about Brandon Saad as are other teams:

As always the issue is the price. But looking at points is not going to give you the real picture of Saad's career, and his current value.

As recently as now he's at least a replacement level player, and he has been more than that in prior years. Ignore that first run in Chicago, but for now, he is likely a not very speedy, but certainly very experienced, NHLer. Max Pacioretty redux.

You have to add players in the order they are available, not the order of your priorities, so maybe it's worth a look now even though he's not the perfect player the Leafs need. Depending on the price.

He becomes available this afternoon.

Captains!

Waaaaaaiiiiit, you have to do the Utah name thing all over again:

Happy Friday, everyone.
