RDS' Renaud Lavoie interview Francois Allaire about his departure from the Maple Leafs. Here's a link to the Google Translate of his article (though if you speak French you can turn it off). Some pretty damning quotes in there:
The management had no choice probably after seeing the [goalies] of the team getting bogged down in the last 25 games of the season after the disastrous management of the [goalies] by Scott Gordon and Greg Cronin (2 assistant coaches who have no expertise at goalkeepers) while traveling in Western Canada while I was working with the Toronto Marlies. Further proof that [criticizing] and [pointing] the finger is much easier than training and teaching.
and
It was clear that I would be subject to a demolition derby from the direction of the Leafs when I left. This was the price to pay to stay true to my profession, my principles and my guards.
It's hard to imagine that Scott Gordon or Greg Cronin know goaltending better than Francois Allaire. That Allaire felt he couldn't do his job in Toronto speaks very poorly of Burke's front office and his tenure with the Leafs.
