For election return and exit poll chat: https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/2018/6/7/17439862/ontario-election-chat-post-exit-polls-results-winners-and-losers
It’s election day in Ontario. Yes, this is my lede. It’s my lede because no matter how piss-poor are the candidates from which we have to select you should still get off your butt and vote today. You can find out where to vote here if you are like me—and pretty much everyone else in Ontario—and never actually received your Voter Information Card in the mail.
The upside tonight is no matter who you want to win today you will have something way better to watch on TV than the talking heads pontificating on the meaning of preliminary results from a single polling station cast in a remote riding like ‘Leeds—Grenville—Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes’.
You can watch hockey instead!
The Washington Capitals play to win the Stanley Cup tonight. Yes, you read that correctly. The Washington Capitals, the team which always has some horrific disaster in the early rounds of the playoffs, could actually win the Stanley Cup tonight. Of course, the Golden Knights aren’t going to go down without a fight, but things don’t look good for the expansion team.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Marlies will try to extend their series lead on the Texas Stars in the Calder Cup Fnal. After defeating them 2-1 Tuesday, the Marlies return to the ice tonight in Austin. This game will also start at 8:00 p.m. and you can watch it on TSN2, or Leafs Nation Network.
