Jonas Hiller vs. Shooter Tutor
Jean-Sebastien Giguere and Brian Burke are probably pretty fired up for tonight. They'll face the team they both left recently. Burke will take a look at a roster he assembled and rounded into Stanley Cup form and Giguere will look at former teammates like Jonas Hiller, the backup who took Giguere's job and sealed his exit from Anaheim. The Leafs were scheduled for a game last night in New York but haven't played since Saturday so they should be pretty fresh.
Giguere stated he'd waive his NTC for the Leafs today; a move somewhat surprising since he'd been reluctant to waive earlier in his career. It shows his loyalty to Burke, and it probably shows Burke's loyalty to Giguere that he hasn't asked him to waive already. The savvy veteran goaltender on this team who by all accounts is great with the team and great in working with the young goaltenders along with the GM and President of the Maple Leafs both want a win tonight. If the Leafs lose tomorrow could be an interesting day.
