Vesa Toskala's Leafs head into New York to play Henrik Lundqvist's 4-1-0 Rangers. The Rangers have gotten big contributions from two rookie defenders; first round pick Michael Del Zotto has five points in five games from the blue line and NCAA free agent signing Matt Gilroy has one goal in that same span.

This is going to be a tough game, the Rangers beat Washington in a weird game with some flukey goals on both sides, but until Marian Gaborik's groin explodes with a noise like a giant rubber band snapping (twaaaaaang) the Rangers are a serious team.

The Leafs will be facing Lundqvist, making it a shame Gustavsson can't outplay Henrik and start a second goaltending controversy early in his career, which means that our offense has its work cut out for itself if it wants to get things on track tonight.

Tonight's the first game of a back to back for Toronto, so a lazy effort tonight means Toronto will rack up two losses in a hurry. On the other hand it only takes one win for a team to gel sometimes. Don't forget your SPG picks and stop back here half an hour before game time for the game day open thread. Go Leafs go!
