Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!
Tonight is round one of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, and our Maple Leafs are picking 23rd overall, so we'll have a while to wait.
As we count down to 7PM when the broadcast begins, we can catch up with the many, many, many, draft profiles that Brian wrote for us.
Today should be one we see many trades of picks and players, but the San Jose Sharks got started yesterday afternoon with their moves.
They traded two picks (14th, 42nd) to the Buffalo Sabres to move up from 14th to 11th.
They also moved former Maple Leafs prospect Carl Grundstrom north from Los Angeles after acquiring him for defender Kyle Burroughs.
The Maple Leafs will not be in the Traverse City tournament this year, but will be travelling to Montréal the weekend of September 14th for two games against the Canadiens top prospects.
Another former Leafs prospect is in the news, with Dakota Joshua signing an extension with the Vancouver Canucks.
Will Matt Roy be a Maple Leaf on Monday?
As someone who is in the middle of negotiating a new CBA, please, start the process as early as possible.
No one wanted to buy it whole, so maybe they can sell the World's Largest Hockey Stick off piece by piece.
More trades?! Save some for tonight, guys.
Finally, poor Connor Ingram just wanted a photo with his trophy.
Enjoy your day and see you all tonight!
