In a move that many saw coming, Rich Clune was placed on waivers today. The roster move was likely made to account for Scott Harrington and Jonathan Bernier's returns from injured reserve. In two games played so far this season, Clune registered no goals, no assists, and 5 PIM.
Clune made waves in his second NHL game by garnering a five-minute boarding penalty on Penguins defenseman Rob Scuderi. He sat out of the next two games as a healthy scratch.

Leafs had to waive Clune to make way for Harrington and eventually Bernier. Up against roster limit.
Clune was brought up to the Leafs at the end of October after registering five points in eight games with the Toronto Marlies.
