Andrew Nielsen made his professional debut last season. A third round pick from the 2015 draft, the defenceman spent this past season putting up excellent numbers with the Lethbridge Hurricanes - his 70 points in 71 games were fourth in team scoring, and third in scoring out of all defencemen in the WHL - before he joined the Toronto Marlies for five games at the end of the AHL season.
In short, he had a pretty good year.
As we ramp up for the new season, Nielsen is probably going to be one to watch. For now, though, please check out this extremely awesome mixed media piece of him, by artist Wendy Fang:

That is beyond cool.
Fang's other artwork is definitely worth checking out on her blog. It's mostly WHL portraits, but there are a couple of NHL players in there - including this James van Riemsdyk piece!
