Leafs at Panthers
7:30 ET: TSN
No big roster changes, the Leafs are starting Jonas Gustavsson across from Tomas Vokoun. Maybe we'll get lucky and win our first game since the last time we played the Florida Panthers.

Sabres at Leafs

Buffalo comes to the ACC for the Hall of Fame game tonight without Ryan Miller who is nursing a lower body injury. The Leafs played well against the Capitals for the most part and need two points so that we don't all slowly go
Diamonds Aren't Forever
The diamond penalty kill has been awful for the Leafs which isn't really a surprise.
Caps 5 Leafs 4 (SO) - Gustavsson Gets Us A Point
[Slava Duris' Scoring Chances]
The Leafs opened this game by almost getting scored on. With the puck on the goal line Luke Schenn swatted it at Gustavsson and it bounced off the goaltender forcing Schenn to sweep it off the goal line a second time. Fortunately Nikolai Kulemin danced
Leafs' Top Six and Shooting
Our top six isn't producing very well outside of Phil Kessel and Clarke MacArthur. It's not because they're snakebit it's because they're not shooting. Most player's shooting percentages are pretty stable over their career so the way to

Leafs 0 Bruins 2
This wasn't a fun game to watch as a Leafs fan because Toronto generated very few chances. They opened the game well with a flurry of shots in the first five minutes of the first period but as the game went on the Bruins executed their defensive plan
[Period 3] Leafs 0 Bruins 2
Obviously Tyler Seguin had to score because if there is a God he truly hates every one of us. Leafs had more good chances but aren't burying any of them. It's a little bit bad luck and a little bit great goaltending.
Here are the shots
[Period 2] Leafs 0 Bruins 1
Leafs had a ton of good chances, but were undone by Brett Lebda taking an interference penalty and Patrice Bergeron wiring a one timer on the ensuing power play.

Leafs at Bruins: Seguin and Kessel
Tyler Seguin grew up a Leafs fan and knowing Murphy's Law if the Leafs had held on to their draft picks they would have drafted sixth somehow. I was reading Seguin quotes in the Star today and I sort of feel bad for the kid:

Scott Clemmensen made his first start of the season on Tuesday, and had he not collided with Toronto's Colton Orr during the third period, he might have come away with a win or at least a point. - Miami Herald

Leafs at Flyers: Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting

Welcome back to Hockey Night in Canada. The Leafs are the big broadcast tonight which has to make advertising salesmen at the CBC breathe a sigh of relief. Because of what can only be described as his extremely crapulent performance Brett Lebda sits for Carl Gunnarsson
The Monster Comes Home

The Rangers come to our barn tonight after losing in overtime to the Leafs on Phil Kessel's goal. They'll be without $14.55M in salary as both Marian Gaborik and Chris Drury will miss tonight's game because we broke them. I

Despite being picked to finish in the basement they're leading their division. Old veterans have been moved out and a GM's vision is becoming clearer on the ice. Youngsters are assuming bigger roles and are fast and hungry. This year's
Rangers 3 Leafs 4-0-0
It wasn't until November 21st 2009 that the Leafs earned their fourth win of the 09-10 season: a 3-2 shootout decision over the Washington Capitals. It was their 21st game of the season and they already had 11 regulation losses and 6 overtime losses.

Early in the season it's hard to get a read on how good a team is or isn't. Take the Leafs: they've outplayed a team, played a tight game and been outplayed yet won all three. Weird things happen in small

I suppose it's not his fault that he can never be Jaroslav Halak or that Steven Stamkos ruined his home opener. Just kidding, it's his fault.
Leafs at Penguins: Road Trip!

It's a Sunday morning on a holiday weekend so I'm guessing our readership today will be somewhere between slim and none. Here's what people are saying about the Leafs:
