The numbers are in and after the first month of NHL play, Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Auston Matthews has the best selling jersey in the NHL.
After the Maple Leafs picked hi first overall in the draft demand for Matthews jerseys has been high, but fans weren’t able to buy any until after the World Cup of Hockey due to production issues on the Maple Leafs new jersey design. Keeping it secret for as long as possible meant none could be ready to sell at the end of June.
They’re available now and Matthews is out selling Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, PK Subban, Alexander Ovechkin, and many others.
Congratulations Matthews, it’s not NHL Rookie of the Month, but it’s nice to be recognized.
