My name is Bower Power, and I've been pretending to know what I'm talking about on this blog for a little over a year and a half now. It turns out I've been doing it so convincingly, that the benevolent overlords here (Admin Bot 3000 excluded, I'm sure) have asked me to write the occasional FTB and the odd story.

A little about me: I was born in Dundas, moved to Maryland at 6, and found my love for the Leafs abroad during the 2000 playoffs. Started playing goal in high school a couple years later, wearing CuJo's sweater - to date the only other goalie's jersey I've worn (though I'd add one more if I could get my hands on a proper vintage Bower). In Virginia now, where the Caps went from "that team who shares a venue with the Bullets" to "Washington's Most Winning-ish Team" over my time in the area.

I've spent the offseason like a junkie, looking for the next weak fix from an NHLNet game replay, an NHL11 roster update, or a draft pick's bad twitter joke. But puck drop is finally starting to feel like it's around the corner, and I can't wait to start getting answers to questions we've raised and rehashed over and over this offseason, especially "is it possible to miss Brett Lebda less than I already do?"

I've written some things before that you should may have read: A suggestion on how to cut back on reckless fighting, on my love for Francois Beauchemin, and my "average" series: Burke's Draft History, Kessel's 2009-10 Streakiness, and Tomas "Doesn't Shoot" Kaberle's Shooting Rate. And my most rec'd piece, which is still hilarious to look at.
