When Baghdad Bill Daly finally starts speaking with a dour tone, you know things aren't going very well:
"We have made repeated moves in the Players' direction with absolutely no reciprocation. Regardless of what we propose or how we suggest to compromise the answer is 'no,' At some point you have to say 'enough is enough.'"
This came after the NHL announced they'd be taking a two-week hiatus from CBA talks with the PA, and after any chance the season could begin on December 1st with a 70-game season.
My opinion on what the NHL should do? Just pack it in for the year rethink your proposals, and realize that you're playing with a man in Donald Fehr who just wants to watch the hockey world burn so he can satiate his ego and declare himself the victor in these negotiations. Cancel the whole season and come back in January ready to begin a proper process for getting a new CBA agreed upon that isn't rushed to get in a truncated season. It's the whole way to make sure we have hockey next year.
