The Atlanta Thrashers franchise record in the playoffs moved to 0-8 as the Winnipeg Jets 2.0 were swept out of the playoffs at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks. The strangest things about the sweep were that somehow Ondrej Pavelec, the goalie that had really showed those dumb number jerks a thing or two, was atrocious and that the league's loudest and best fans suddenly weren't able to give their team a magical boost anymore. The brightest spot in the sweep had to be the litany of fantastic tweets that it produced:
Manitoba teams / they're so forgettable / winter coats / overalls on top / ice-frozen pipes / so cold / they'll freeze a slurpee / ohoohoh

When do the pieces blaming fans at the MTS Centre for causing their team's poor performance with a morgue-like atmosphere start? I'll wait.

*dusts off tweet from 1996* It's not the playoffs til the Jets are swept in the first round.

Considering what happened the last time the Winnipeg Jets lost a playoff series on home ice, I wonder if Phoenix is going to get a 2nd team

Hopefully we can recover the black box

Some people even decided to remind Jets fans how their team's record in the playoffs fares when compared to the Leafs:
The Leafs have played in more playoff games and have more wins than the Jets since 2011-12.

Since the Jets came back to Winnipeg: WPG playoff wins: 0 TOR playoff wins: 3

Now, I think it's really mean of those people to take this moment to dance on the grave of the Winnipeg Jets' playoff dreams so I wrote a poem to cheer you guys up:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
The Leafs didn't win a playoff game
But neither did you
It may need a little work.
