So the Leafs lost in Buffalo once again last night, failing to give much support in front of young goalie James Reimer. The Buds have now lost 7 straight at HSBC Arena. During the second intermission in an otherwise dreadful game came the news from Pierre LeBrun that interest in Francois Beauchemin and Kris Versteeg has increased significantly. LeBrun even went so far as to say the two will likely be dealt. And while a deal involving Tomas Kaberle seems unlikely, LeBrun noted in his blog for ESPN that the Bruins, Habs, and Rangers all have an interest in acquiring #15. Nothing is written in stone and no moves have been made, but the chatter over the past few weeks indicates that Burke may be ready to take the Leafs in a different direction. The next 22 days should be interesting.
