The Toronto Marlies will play a 36 game schedule in 2021 against their four fellow Canadian teams in the AHL. Toronto started their season in Manitoba last Monday and will play their first home game on March 1st against the same Manitoba Moose. The Marlies finish their season on May 15th in Laval.

Season Breakdown:

  • vs. Laval Rocket (5 home, 5 away)
  • vs. Belleville Senators (4 home, 5 away)
  • vs. Manitoba Moose (5 home, 4 away)
  • vs. Stockton Heat (4 home, 4 away)/

As you can see, the Marlies have a combined eight road games scheduled against the Moose and Heat, by the end of this week, those games will have been played, meaning the only trips Toronto will be taking out of the province will be four trips (five games) to Quebec to play Laval. That said, Laval, Manitoba, and Stockton will be playing 14 games in Toronto (combined seven trips), and they’ll need to get here one way or another.

Arenas:

  • Laval Rocket: Bell Centre, Montreal
  • Belleville Senators: Canadian Tire Centre, Kanata
  • Manitoba Moose: Bell MTS Iceplex, Winnipeg (this is the practice facility)
  • Stockton Heat: Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary
  • Toronto Marlies: Coca-Cola Coliseum, Toronto/

UPDATE:

While it was initially unconfirmed, the Toronto Marlies will be playing all 18 home games in Coca-Cola Coliseum this season.

The Marlies have already played all four road games they have been scheduled to in Manitoba, those games were played at Bell MTS Place, the regular home of the Moose and Winnipeg Jets*.

Back-to-Backs:

The Marlies have nine back-to-backs this season, no three-in-threes, but all of the back-to-backs are paired into a three-in-four of some kind. The Marlies have already completed two back-to-backs while in Winnipeg and start their third tonight in Calgary vs. Stockton.

The schedule varies wildly in terms of start times, so keep an eye on our previews and the Marlies Twitter and website for updates. With most of the teams sharing a rink with their NHL affiliates, and COVID postponements already affecting NHL and AHL teams in the US and Canada, this is not a schedule that should be written in stone.
