The Toronto Maple Leafs will play their third game of the season against the Edmonton Oilers, after splitting the first two in Toronto last week. They blew a “defensive” stalemate with their main lineup the first game, thanks in part to an own goal. The next game they were without Joe Thornton and Auston Matthews, and called up Adam Brooks and Pierre Engvall for their first games of the year and of course that squad wound up winning.
This time the Leafs have Matthews back, but Thornton is still out. Jason Spezza and Alexander Barabanov are checking in on the fourth line, with Engvall and Joey Anderson reportedly being the scratches. That leaves Travis Boyd sticking around on the fourth line. We’ll also reportedly have Travis Dermott swapping in for Mikko Lehtonen.
GO LEAFS GO!
Will the Leafs finally have a dominant showing against an inferior team?
