I know, it’s a shock to all of us. The Maple Leafs had a defender named Warsofsky?
They do! He was part of the Kasperi Kapanen trade to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and was the Captain for the Penguins AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season.

Warsofsky scored 10 goals, and had 23 assists for 33 points in 51 games, and if he clears he’ll be a big gain for the Marlies this year. He’s been a career AHLer with a few NHL games for the Bruins, Penguins, and Avalanche sprinkled around.
This isn’t breaking news, but it’s a groundhog poking its nose out of it’s hole to check if it’s time to come out yet. The AHL has announced a February 5th start date and the Marlies need players.

Training camps have begun for non-playoff NHL teams and will begin in a few more days for the bubble teams. Players will be going on and off waivers as we saw earlier with Kalle Kossila.
It may not be a good thing for David, but the waiver news is a piece of regular business by the league and another step towards the season.
