Great news from last night! Kings Win! So that means that with an LA win and a Toronto loss tonight the Leafs could find themselves with a 48.2% chance of landing the top pick in the draft. Even better, when they trade for Edmonton's pick from Anaheim (6th last overall) and they flukily win the draft the Leafs will have the top 2 picks. Mr. Stamkos, Mr. Doughty, please report to the front stage. If the Leafs get that pick then I am travelling to the draft.

Anyway, the game tonight is against the enemies of hockey, the Boston Bruins. The 20 games against them since the lockout have produced, without a shadow of a doubt, the worst hockey in the history of the NHL save for that 10-2 laugher. They kill the game so effectively I have fallen asleep during games no less than 5 times. And yet, the Habs own them which makes no sense at all. Undoubtedly this will be a 2-0 snorer or maybe a classic 3-1 win for the Beantowners and while it will sting waking up tomorrow to find the Leafs propping up the standings remember that this too shall pass. When the Leafs have returned to their role as Cup contenders we'll laugh at the trials of these past three years.

To get ready for this game here are some stories to read to pass the time:

Kevin McGran has a look at Matt Stajan's development into a solid two-way forward. He could use a little more offense but in my mind he's improved every year of his career.
Penaltyshotsca picked up a nice souvenir. In 2010-2011 the players will get the Cup version of those rings.
Lyle Richardson looks at the history of first overall picks. They tend to either be awesome or fail awesomely. We hope for the former and remember Daigle for the latter.
David Shoalts finds that GMs are predicting a wild trade deadline to match the last two. Please, please, PLEASE feature the Leafs.
Chemmy has a great photoshop. Maybe he can put Doughty in there too. * Knock on wood *
This site is cool. What are the odds of the Leafs finishing 23-0-0? 1,001 in 10,000,000. Hmmm, that can't be right.
The Omen continues to show his hatred for Cliff Fletcher by trying to intimate that his 50 year legacy will be tainted if he doesn't get 4 picks/prospects/players for everyone on the Leafs. I would argue that Cox's minimal legacy just got tainted by that article.
As always, put your SPG guesses in the comments. Try to guess the anemic number of shots that the Leafs will get against a defence that always gives them fits. Go Kings Go!
