With the NHL season officially over, Mitch Marner is keeping himself busy with a little baseball tonight. Mitch threw out the first pitch at tonight’s Toronto Blue Jays game vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.

There’s a lot to unpack here.
First, that’s a solid pitch. Many professional athletes from other sports have humiliated themselves on the pitcher’s mound, but Marner threw that one almost right over home plate.
Next, I want to know what was so urgent to repair that that grounds crew member behind Marner doesn’t pay any attention to our lovely prospect’s great pitch? Priorities, sir!
Finally: jorts.
Ripped jorts.
FAKE RIPPED JORTS.
Oh, Mitch. We need to talk about your summer wardrobe.
In any case, this isn’t the first time the Maple Leafs and Blue Jays have visited each other this year. Connor Brown and Auston Matthews watched a game earlier this season.
Back in April, several Leafs took up batting practice at the Rogers Centre. JvR hit a home run. He’s great at swinging his stick.
The Buds may play hockey, but they still hit 💣 at Rogers Centre today. Thanks for stopping by, @MapleLeafs! #LetsRise pic.twitter.com/fvtDtg2lpR

If you have a long memory, you may recall TeamUnit, a brief marketing co-venture started back in the days when Colby Armstrong was still a Maple Leaf. Tyler Bozak is the only active member of TeamUnit still playing in Toronto.
What do you think of Marner’s technique?
The Blue Jays could use him. | 51 |
