Joseph Woll is doing a pretty good job.
As a freshman at Boston College, the Leafs’ third round pick from last year’s draft currently has an overall .923 save percentage. You could say he’s doing pretty well for himself, as BC is the top team in Hockey East.
How much is goaltending helping the Eagles? Probably a fair bit, since Woll’s name is right at the top of Hockey East statistics - while Boston College scorers are a bit lower down.
And this past week Woll was recognized for his goaltending prowess, as he was named Hockey East’s rookie of the week:
Congrats to @MapleLeafs prospect @brick_WOLL29 who won @hockey_east Rookie of the Week this past week. https://t.co/AQPzPIVZX8

In two games he collected two wins, with a save percentage of first .976, and then .862. They look like they were two completely different games, the second being a 6-4 win for BC, but Woll clearly shined in the first: a 2-1 win in which he faced 42 shots.
So congrats to Woll for this honour! And for Leafs prospects continuing to do a good job, no matter which league they’re playing in.
